Need to verify a South African company’s registration details? Our CIPC Company Report pulls official data directly from the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission database, giving you a comprehensive snapshot of any registered entity in minutes.
How It Works
Pay and receive – Fill in your details, complete a once-off payment of R249, and the full company report is emailed to you straight away.
Search – Enter the company name or part of it. Our system searches the CIPC database in real time and returns all matching results.
Select – Pick the correct company from the list. Each result shows the registered name and registration number so there is no guesswork.

Who Needs a CIPC Company Report?
CIPC reports are commonly requested by:
- Legal professionals conducting due diligence on a company or its directors before entering into contracts
- Accountants and auditors verifying company details for compliance, tax filings, or annual returns
- Banks and financial institutions assessing business entities as part of FICA or credit applications

Why Use Apostil for CIPC Checks?
Searching the CIPC database directly can be time-consuming. The official CIPC portal requires account registration, frequent timeouts, and often returns incomplete data.
Our service connects to the CIPC database through an authorised data provider, which means faster searches, more complete results, and a clean report delivered to your inbox – no account registration or waiting required.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to receive the report? Most reports are generated and emailed within a few minutes of payment. In rare cases where the CIPC database is experiencing high traffic, it may take up to 30 minutes.
Is this an official CIPC document? The report contains official CIPC data sourced through an authorised provider (Lexis WinDeed). It is an informational report, not a certified extract. If you need a certified CIPC extract for court or regulatory purposes, that must be obtained directly from CIPC.
Can I search for any type of company? Yes. The search covers all entity types registered with CIPC, including private companies (Pty Ltd), public companies, close corporations (CC), and external companies.
What if the company I am looking for does not appear in the results? Try searching with a shorter version of the name, or just the key word. If the company still does not appear, it may not be registered with CIPC, or it may be registered under a different name. Contact us at clients@apostil.co.za and we will help you track it down.
Is my payment secure? All payments are processed through PayFast, South Africa’s leading online payment gateway. We do not store any card or banking details.
Can I get a refund if the report is not what I expected? Because reports are generated instantly from live data, we are unable to offer refunds once the report has been delivered. If you believe there is an error in the data, please contact us and we will investigate.
